Razor Sole Skate

Razor is back with a new skate concept--the Sole Skate. A one (and a quarter) footed skateboard, it is compact enough to fit on or in a bag for travel.

Inexplicably marketed at the stunt skateboarder, this would be interesting in and around workplaces.

Recumbent motorcycles

Not sure why I'd never seen something like this before, especially since recumbent bicycles have been around for a long time. Makes sense!

They talk up the magnetic drive, but I just like the position.

UPDATE: Lots more recumbent motorcycles here!

Stepper bikes from Taipei Bicycle Show

Eric Stoddard from Speed Studio Design documented some interesting bikes from the Taipei Bicycle Show recently.

I especially liked the stepper/strider bikes he found; a couple new competitors to the ElliptiGo. My favorite was the Dreamslider:

This unnamed stepper bike seems interesting as well:

The Copenhagen Wheel

The Copenhagen Wheel: "

The Copenhagen Wheel collects energy from braking and coasting to power an electric hub motor. It can be retrofit to most bicycles without other changes, and also includes sensors to monitor speed and direction.

3G Stepper bike

Another exercise-machine-influenced bike, the 3G Stepper looks more compact and fun than the ElliptiGo, though likely even slower.

Buggy Rollin

Ok, so this is only going to transport you downhill, but what a ride!

YikeBike

Hearkening back to the pennyfarthings of yore, the YikeBike seems like a slick way to zip around town.

A-bike

A bike that folds to the size of an umbrella. Pretty wild...

Go-One Velomobile

This might be the most compelling human-powered vehicle design I've seen.

Toyota i-Real

The name belies its utterly conceptual status, but still, this is pretty wild.

That said, it's still much more feasible than the i-Unit concepts that preceded it:

Board-skate Xlider

Board-skate Xlider - Tasem Co., Ltd.

Who needs the middle part of a skateboard anyway?

"Utilizing high-friction rubber, the rider is completely secure and safe, even though they are not strapped in." Well, thank goodness for that!

Wheelman Motorized Skateboard

Gadgets: Wheelman Motorized Skateboard

Fantastically-dangerous way to get around...but pretty elegant too.
