Another from Erik Stoddard, this actually looks pretty slick. Steering via skateboard-esque tilting, propulsion with levers and sliding footpads (to change leverage and simulate gearing).
Razor is back with a new skate concept--the Sole Skate. A one (and a quarter) footed skateboard, it is compact enough to fit on or in a bag for travel.
Inexplicably marketed at the stunt skateboarder, this would be interesting in and around workplaces.
And for once, there's a benefit! To ride the ObliqO you put one foot inside each wheel and do a scissor motion with your legs; kind of like the RipStik or the Snakeboards from the 80s.
This would probably look pretty dorky if he wasn't riding it on a vert ramp! Then the zero friction is probably awesome (not sure what happens when your air cushion spills over the top, though...)
Clearly a concept because it uses spokeless wheels (is anybody working on this technology? every industrial designer is apparently craving to use it), this skateboard is inflatable and rolls up for portability. Must be pretty light!
"'Skate' from Matteo Gentile adds an electric motor to a stripped down hybrid of a skateboard and snowboard bindings, creating something altogether different, dangerous and cool. Ostensibly created for regular transport and short commutes, I think we all know what was going through Matteo’s mind when he sketched this bad boy out."
